Hotel Cantiere Navale Donoratico ★★★ - Marina di Donoratico - Tuscany

THE BUILDING
Founded in 1946 by the Earl Gaddo della Gherardesca on its grounds in front the sea, the Cantiere Navale Donoratico, after almost twenty years from its cutback, still remembered for its successes in rowing, field in which was specialized, but also for sports craft realizations. A careful and minute reorganization project turned it today into a modern three sup. stars resort on an area of 25 hectares characterized by high trunk maritime pines and rich in vegetation, along a coast, unique for position, nature, beach and sea. In place of the old yards today new buildings were realized. They include the central building called "La Vela" whose its semicircular form cover reminds to the old roof, typical of sheds of that period, as well as other 8 building where 176 units are located, divided into accommodations of several size, rooms and suite. The resort has been built in the maximum respect for nature, between sand dunes and high trunk maritime pines typical of the Mediterranean vegetation. The beach is wide with fine sand while the very nice sea, in that expanse, is characterized by a depth that gets down slowly and gradually. An oasis in other words ... suitable also for the most demanding customers, the resort, considered its location, offers relaxing and funny holidays, besides the immediate closeness to many tourist resort of Tuscany which makes this area one of the most requested, for culture, art, gastronomy, landscape and sport.

THE HOTEL:
In rooms or suites with half or full board basis. The rooms are located in the 2 closer buildings to the central building where the facilities are arranged; they could be on the ground or first floor. The suites are in various buildings and can be on the ground, first or second floor. Half or full board basis with meals served at the panoramic restaurant of the resort. Breakfast with buffet and meals with traditional service at the table.
THE ROOMS:
Available on ground and first floor with terrace or balcony, decorated in modern maritime style. all have telephone, Sat Tv, safe, fridge,  airconditioning ( at guests expense ), bathroom with shower and hairdryer.

Half board in the above includes water and wine with meals, one umbrella and 2 deckchairs on the 2nd row beach area.

Suite Grecale: Suite with sitting room equipped with kitchenette (cleaning by client, or by arangement at a fee), a double sofa bed, a double bedroom. space for  additional 3rd , 4th or 5th bed or cot.

Half board in the above includes water and wine with meals, FREE airconditionng, and one umbrella and 2 deckchairs on the 1st row beach area, plus a welcome basket.

SERVICES:
Reception, Bar, Buffet Restaurant 'La Gorgona' with fabulous sea views, A La Carte restaurant 'La Vela' (at guests expense) with large verandah and sea views. Restaurant 'Il Galeone Slavador' (guest expense) where every evening a choice of seafood or meat grills are offered. Restaurant for children 'The Pirates Tavern' with special menu and assisted by members of the mini club, with an inside cinema for the children 'La Medusa'.
Nursery supplied with bottle warmers, high chairs and nappies.
Also amidst the dunes and the pine trees,there is a large area for the smaller children 'theatre de Mar', where the activities of the Mini club, childrens games,  inflatable toys, recreational acitivities and shows  are held.
Small shop with newspapers and groceries. Swimming pool for adults and children with spa., piano bar evenings with live music.
Available to guests is the private beach with 2 deckchairs and one umbrella for each appartment, plus ample space for sports and recreation.
Coin operated laundry, and a babysitting service is available at guests expense.
Wellbeing Centre 'Poseidon' (guests expense) with spas, turkish baths, and cromotherapy, essence showers,  massage, beautician, hair dresser and a vast relaxation area among the dunes. At 600metres from the complex, inside the park, there is an outdoor theatre, outdoor pizzeria 'La Pineta', (closed in bad weather ).
The complex is closed to traffic. Cars are left in the designated parking area, 900 metres from the complex and serviced by minibus. the parking area is private, guarded, fenced and shaded.
Stay in a suite or room with half board, water and local wines(bottle) included at meals. Breakfast and dinner are buffet style  with typical local and mediteranean cuisin, served either in La Gorgona or the Pizzeria.
guests upon arrival are asked to reserve their prefered dinner sitting, either 19.30 - 20.15 or 20.30 -21.15. this can be done at La Gorgona.
For the younger guests, dinner is served at 19.20 in 'The Pirates Tavern', superivised by members of the Mini Club, who organise games, and a film  up to 21.15.
SPORT, ACTIVITIES AND SHOWS.
Canado Card(obbligatory over 2yrs from 5/6 - 12/9). Activities are family oriented, with particular attention to children and teenagers. for adults there ia a more
moderate but interesting program available. Guests are treated with  curtesy and discretion while sharing fun and stimulating activities.  for the more active, there are course in spinning aerobics, archery, stepping, stretch, and water aerobics, held either in the sea or the park. On the beach for the guests there are canoes, wind surf, and pedalos.Ballroom dancing with an instructor. 600metres from the complex L'Arena offers tennis, indoor soccer on synthetic grass, mini golf for the chidren and mini basketball and archery. Open air activities with gym equipment available. During the week there are games,  shows and live music at the Piano Bar.
CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS
Particular attention is paid to children and teenagers. our Young Guests & Games Staff (AIGO) offer a daily program of activities like swimming, games, pedalo rides, tournaments, short excursions, visits to the aniamls in the park, pizza parties, and the exciting evening baby dance. Dinner in the Pirates Tavern is supervised and includes a film, and try outs for the childrens show.
The Baby Nursery Club  (0-2 years ): A well maintained area equipped for all young needs , open from 10.00 - 20.00 (outside  hours available on request).  Inside Mums will find the rest room airconditioned with baby monitors, a changing room, bottle warmers, microwave, blender, steriliser etc. a games room with a kiddies pool of  soft balls and many toys.
Mini Club  (2 -10 years )
Offers a rich program of activities, adventures and sports. During the week, the children participate in varied sporting events, games and  excursions, all accompanied by the AIGO staff. In the evenings, the young guests attend the baby dance and  put on their own show at the Teatro de Mar.
Young Club (11-17 years)
Proposes Playstation's tournaments, Survivor Camping, Sporting and entertainment activities and themed evenings.
